Synopsis:

There is a fine line between light and dark, between good and evil. Documentary filmmaker, Miles Kody, crosses that line when he becomes obsessed with his subject…the “King of snuff films”. Miles realizes the ghosts of those films are warning him…or luring him and those close to him, into the darkness.

Cast breakdown:

VIC (45-55) - John Savage, Menacing, calculating, manipulative, he embodies evil. Considered the “king” of snuff films, he may be the devil incarnate, collecting the souls of hapless victims. Those he can’t persuade to give their souls freely… he destroys.

MILES KODY (30-35) - Travis Schuldt, Professional, artistic, documentary filmmaker, voracious researcher. He won an Academy Award 10 years ago… living off that success, and his wife’s inheritance ever since. He’s driven to jumpstart his career, and is borderline desperate because he wants to be the breadwinner in the family. This anxiety has diminished the spark between Miles and his wife.

BRENDA KODY (30-35) - Natalie Zea, Supportive, but yearning. Questions her decisions. Took first job out of law school to sustain Mile’s documentary. Quit her job after he won award. Her ride on his coattails turned into pulling him from a downward spiral. A college romance led to a marriage of convenience. She longs for younger days… living on the artistic edge with Miles. But, she eyes Sean.

SEAN KODY (20-25) - Conor Duffy, A rogue, hip, constantly looking for the next “best thing”… and constantly trying to get out of his older brother’s shadow. Clever and streetwise, he noticed his sister-in-law’s anguish, which led to their brief affair. His engagement to Rosa made him forget about Brenda.

ROSA ABEYTA (20-25) - Valery M. Ortiz, Brains packed into a swimsuit model body. Her sometimes-ditsy behavior is a thin façade, protecting a precise, analytical person. The only thing that could outweigh her smarts is her common sense. She is Sean’s fiancée because she admires his desire to be his own individual.

CARL (35-40) - Bronson Pinchot, Miles’ primary investor, is very interested, more in the hypnotic allure of the movies and potential for profit.
